Truss Rod:

Simply a rod inside of the neck of your guitar, used for stabilizing the wood. A truss rod can usually be adjusted using an allen wrench. If your guitar's neck is bowed, or if your strings are too high off of your fret board and bridge adjustments didn't help, adjustment of the truss rod can do the trick. Please keep in mind that adjusting your truss can be very tricky at times and is not meant to simply play with. You can very easily make things worse, so if it's not really a big deal, or getting a lighter gauge of strings will work, I'd just try that first.
