Sweep Picking:

Sweep picking is a technique in which you very quickly pick each note in one fluid motion. Usually all 6 strings on one down stroke, grazing every string and then all 6 strings on the upstroke. Although it may sound like strumming a chord, it is most certainly not. When sweep picking you must hit each string, but once you have followed thru the note it can no longer ring out. One of the harder techniques to accomplish, but very effective for the lead guitarist!
